ABOUT SCARLETT Scarlett Inc, formerly known as Scarlett Machinery, has been under the guidance of Jim Scarlett since 1979. Now partnered with James Scarlett and Chris Timmer, Scarlett Inc continues to provide technical machinery, but has now added solution based consulting for manufacturing systems. James and Chris both have higher education degrees in engineering and business as well as 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment which stressed LEAN initiatives.
SCARLETT HISTORY Scarlett Machinery Incorporated was founded in 1966 by Wally Scarlett as Scarlett Associates Corporation.
The first business activity was conducted from a 6000 sq. ft. facility in Rockford, Michigan where a small number of lines were offered along with fabrication services for conveyors and some special design machinery. In 1971, the business was moved from the 6000 sq. ft. location to a larger building in Rockford where the fabrication and special machinery lines were expanded. Wally Scarlett had spent several years as sales manager for CO Porter Machinery Company, a long time woodworking machinery manufacturer located in Grand Rapids which specialized in rough mill sawing and planing equipment along with the respective conveyors. With that background, Scarlett Associates Corporation provided a similar service for several years to the woodworking industry.
